Christopher Paris
Christopher was born into a theatrical family, and early influences came from a heady mix of props, lighting, rehearsal rooms, amazing puppetry, art galleries, sculpture and art festivals in the park.
On Leaving school he completed one of the first DATEC courses, which was a two year foundation course. Having the learnt most artistic disciplines Chris then went on to do a fine art degree in Liverpool Polytechnic. (now John Moore’s University). At the time he was very much influenced by Indian philosophy which was reflected in the experimental work art the time. He left the course to join a band playing the flute.
Christopher then spent three years, full time, training to repair and make woodwind instruments. He became proficient and worked repairing bassoons and oboes for a year for T W Howarth and Sons on Chiltern St London.
After an IT course and a PGCE from Brighton University Christopher has worked as a web designer/teacher, Special needs teacher and a yoga teacher. His yoga took him to India to train for 3 months then returned to live in Newark where he started painting landscapes. For the last few years, Christopher has been painting full time, exhibiting and selling work. he also teaches a few hours a week on the foundation course in Lincoln college.
