Portrait of Trevor Lingard

Trevor Lingard

Born in the Lancashire mill town of Accrington  in 1952, Trevor had a natural talent for drawing and painting from an early age. Now a professional artist, he largely paints in watercolour and is best known for his landscape and figurative pieces.

His inspiration comes from his travels abroad in the mediterranean, in particular Venice, as well as his immediate surroundings living in the picturesque Lancashire village of Sabden.  His paintings beautifully capture flowing figures and light dappled buildings and water.
He is also inspired by Edward Seago and Sir William Russell Flint, and over more recent years by the renowned  artists Trevor Chamberlain, John Yardley and Ken Howard.

His work shows the skill shown from decades of practice and a fundamental understanding of the properties of the paint and the surfaces he uses. His work is characterised by the economy of detail and beautifully simple colour palette which creates paintings with style and ambience.

His reputation is growing both nationally and internationally and his works are being recognised as being some of the most skillful land and cityscapes of their kind.
