The mooch gallery of dreams is being beautified and will be ready for its eager audience on the 26th June. There are a whole heap of things to sort out for the opening but I won''t bore you with that.
Judging by the number of people who want to come to the opening, I think there is a faintly glamorous image to these events. The wine, the music the feeling that the art washes from your soul, the dirt of everyday life. Okay so not that extreme but it still promises to be a great event with some fantastic artists showcasing their formidable talent. I have looked around shows and galleries across the whole of Britain and seen 100s if not 1000s of artists. What I, and Mooch, are chasing is the perfect balance. The perfect balance between art and commerce. Art and commerce aren’t mutually exclusive, quite the contrary, they need each other.
If you have read the other parts of this website, Mooch is not about to sell mass produced prints. Art that compromises to appeal to the masses loses much of its integrity. On the other hand, art that doesn’t need to appeal to buyers can baffling and obscure.
The short of is that there should be art that appeals to you. If there isn’t, please let me know what kind of thing you are after.
